How to read our numbers

Effective 2026-09-15. The whole point of this tool is provenance — so here's exactly where the numbers come from and what they are not.

Informational, not advice

Appraisail is an informational comparison tool. Nothing here is financial, investment, tax, or legal advice, an appraisal certification, or an offer to buy or sell any domain. Valuations are estimates and opinions, not guarantees of what a name will sell for.

Where the numbers come from

Recorded observations carry the date they were observed. They are dated snapshots, not live calls, and the underlying provider may not disclose the date of the data behind its own figure.
Live third-party numbers, where shown, come from that provider's official API and are labeled with the source and retrieval time. We do not scrape.
Self-serve links send you to a provider's own free tool, on that provider's own terms — nothing is proxied through us.
The house model is our own estimate and is labeled as such. Like every model here, it can be wrong.

Affiliate relationships

Some outbound links (registrars, marketplaces, listing services) may be affiliate links, meaning we could earn a commission if you act on them — at no extra cost to you. Affiliate relationships never change a displayed valuation or the ranking of the comparison; the numbers are the numbers.

Machine access

Automated access to the dataset is licensed and metered separately — see the Machine Access & Licensing Terms.
